Home Projects Jack & Lifting Hydraulically Jacking a Restaurant’s 2.5-Tonne Pizza Oven – Surry Hills
Problem
A restaurant owner in Surry Hills recently purchased a state-of-the-art 2.5T custom pizza oven direct from Italy. The plan was for the oven to be installed in a specific spot in his restaurant, but once it arrived, he found he was unable to raise the oven to the required height to install the legs.
With no obvious solution to the problem due to the restaurant’s tight access, which did not allow for forklifts or machine lifts, the customer called the jack and lifting experts at Shore Hire to get the job done.
Solution
To solve the customer’s problem, we needed to raise the pizza oven to the correct height to install the legs using two different hydraulic jacks, and a combination of our Modular Shore Prop 400s and timber sleepers.
Hydraulic jacking was an ideal solution for this project, as it is much more compact than other lifting solutions, making it well-suited for tight spaces like a restaurant. It is also perfect for fine-tuning lifting applications where precision is required to avoid damaging any assets, in this case, a bespoke ceramic pizza oven.
The customer was extremely pleased with our solution and our rigging team’s professionalism, expertise, and dedication to safety, all of which were crucial to the project’s success.
