Our client in Marrickville needed a unique engineered solution for this facade retention application. This project involved a major building renovation designed around an existing brick facade, so in order to get the job done, a strong yet versatile temporary propping solution that could be installed with minimal disturbance to the existing structure and at a raked angle was required.

SOLUTION

Shore Hire worked closely with the customer’s structural engineer to provide a propping solution to suit the customer’s specific requirements. Shore Hire proposed and utilised its unique and flexibly designed Shore 400 modular propping system with raking adaptors to support and maintain the ageing facade in various positions. The Shore Hire team pre-building and installing these props for the customer saved over 20 hours of labour time.

The Shore 400 Modular Propping System provided the flexibility demanded by this unique job, ultimately meeting all the structural engineer’s requirements and exceeding the customer’s demands. The renovation went ahead as planned and on time, effectively and safely incorporating the brick facade into a contemporary structure.

The customer has subsequently returned to Shore Hire as a repeat customer to execute similar projects, knowing they can safely rely on Shore Hire’s unique propping and shoring solutions to get the job done safely and effectively.
